Awards finalists announced

The Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) has announced the finalists for its inaugural T&L Industry Development Awards.

The awards, developed in conjunction with the Australian Logistics Council, apics, CIPSA and the Queensland Transport Industry Capability Unit, include the Queensland T&L Industry Futures Award and T&L Future Leaders Award.

The Queensland T&L Industry Futures Award, sponsored by EsSCO, will be awarded to the company, institution or organisation with the best proven record in facilitating people’s entry to and pathway in the transport, supply chain and logistics industries.

Finalists are Mt Gravatt Coach and Travel, Damco/Maersk Logistics, Kagan Logistics and Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office.

Sponsored by Queensland Transport, the T&L Future Leaders Award aims to offer incentive and recognition for individuals working in the supply chain and logistics sectors that are planning a career path within the industry.

Finalists for the award are road train operator Athol Carter from Hugh Sproat Transport, commercial analyst Desmond Roche from Powerlink Queensland, warehouse supervisor Michael Topia from Mrs Crocket’s Kitchen, and transport manager of Kagan Logistics Paul Yeoman.

"Queensland Transport is pleased to be involved with the T&L awards as they recognise the outstanding achievements of the people and organisations in the transport, supply chain and logistics industry," said Louise Perram-Fisk, senior project manager of the Industry Capability Unite Governance and Planning branch.

The winners will be announced at the 2008 Queensland Supply Chain & Logistics Conference dinner on July 31.
