Datamax O'Neil scores Ingram Micro contract

Ingram Micro has awarded preferred supplier status to Datamax-O’Neil for thermal bar code printers. The printers will be used for the next three years at Ingram Micro’s seven North American distribution centres for printing approximately one million labels a month for outgoing packages.

“We’re pleased to recognise Datamax-O’Neil as one of our preferred suppliers,” said Bob Reid, senior manager of strategic sourcing, Ingram Micro Inc. “Our distribution centres have demanding labelling requirements to fulfil, and as such, we needed a provider with a proven track record and high-performance product that could keep up in a fast paced working environment.”

Ingram Micro is the world’s largest distributor of electronic and information technology products. The company’s vast network of distribution centres has made them the product fulfilment choice of many large, high-profile e-tailers and mail order catalogues, as well as the world’s top IT manufacturers and IT resellers. The distribution centres must operate efficiently and effectively, handling high-volume orders with fast turnaround.

“Datamax-O’Neil is honoured to be selected for this mission-critical requirement and we’re proud that our printers are recognised for their ability to meet the rigorous demands of Ingram Micro’s distribution centres,” said Mike Allocco, Datamax-O’Neil’s general manager of sales for the America’s. “Ingram Micro recognised the I-Class as a reliable, high-performance workhorse, and values Datamax-O’Neil’s reputation for standing by its products with industry-leading service and support.”

The I-Class is a family of industrial printers that offer reliability and flexibility as well as a modular design that enables field-installable options and provide easy maintenance and repair.
