Isuzu opens massive new parts warehouse

Isuzu Australia has recently opened a vastly expanded new parts warehouse facility, providing 12,000 square metres of fully racked storage space and office amenities to support truck, marine and industrial engine parts requirements.

The new facility, located within the same Melbourne estate as the previous warehouse, is twice the size of the older facility, and also provides the opportunity for future expansion when required.

Record Isuzu truck sales over the past several years means the Isuzu parts operation needs to keep pace with growing customer expectations, according to IAL Director – IT, Engine and Parts Operations, Peter Rutkis.

Aside from stocking the common wear and tear items associated with trucks, such as brakes, clutches, suspensions and so forth, IAL also ensures that there is a wide coverage of other spare parts for every model Isuzu truck sold in Australia.

The new facility also extends coverage for the Isuzu Marine and Industrial Engines ranges which have been steadily gaining market acceptance since being introduced.
Constructed by leading materials handling specialists, Absolute Storage Systems, the new Isuzu Parts warehouse features premium Schaefer racking, shelving and storage systems.

The installation caters for storing items ranging from the smallest washer to a fully dressed cab assembly.

A key component of the warehouse is the small parts storage facility, which houses up to 40,000 locations.

By optimising the use of space, it significantly contributes to faster and more efficient pick cycles.
