New sponsor joins the International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show

Organisers of the International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show have announced that the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) has become a platinum sponsor of the event.

“After the VACC’s involvement in the inaugural show, it is great to have them back on board for 2010 in what is sure to the biggest show of its kind seen on Australian soil,” said show director, Clint Hendry. “It is great to see some of the biggest industry associations throwing their support behind the event.”

Established in 1918, the VACC is one of the largest employer organisations and employers of automotive apprentices in Victoria. The VACC provides support and advice to over 5,000 small to medium businesses in the automotive sector. VACC members employ approximately 50,000 employees.

Through its Commercial Vehicle Body Manufacturers Association (CVBMA) and Commercial Vehicle Industry Association (CVIA) Divisions, VACC is an active member of the truck and trailer sector; and is also a member of the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Australia (CVIAA).

“We are delighted to be a platinum sponsor of the 2010 International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show from March 18 to 20 at the Melbourne Showgrounds,” said VACC executive director, David Purchase. “It continues VACC’s association with the event, following our involvement at the inaugural 2008 show, through the CVIA Division.
“VACC has a long history of involvement with heavy vehicles through our special body manufacturers and new and used truck retailers, as well as lobbying governments, campaigning for vehicle safety and the promotion of the ‘Guide to Safe Work Related Driving’.

“The International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show will enable us to interact with the Industry and discuss issues in an environment ‘where business is done’.”

All major truck manufacturers, over 50 of the nation’s top trailer body builders and the cream of the industry’s ancillary equipment suppliers are all dedicated to making the 2010 event the biggest and best Australia has ever seen.

“This is an event with something for everyone. Whether you are interested in buying a new B-double for your business or want to bring the kids for a day out, it is going to be a great three days. And while you are there, come and check out VACC’s stand in the Grand Pavilion – we look forward to seeing you,” said Mr Purchase.
