Supply Chain Show heads to Melbourne

Interpoint Events - organisers of the Smart Supply Chain Technology Show and part of The Intermedia Group, publishers of MHD magazine and www.TandLnews.com.au - is launching a new supply chain event in Melbourne in July.

According to Simon Cooper, managing director of Interpoint, the show was in direct response to requests for a dedicated supply chain exhibition in Victoria. “For a number of years we have held informal discussions with industry associations and individual companies about a materials handling/logistics/supply chain event in Melbourne. The demise of other events in this sector prompted us to survey our exhibitors at the Smart Supply Chain Technology Show last year, and there was a very positive response to the concept of a trade show.”

Supply chains are becoming more complex, companies are becoming more closely connected to their customers. They are also facing green challenges and globalisation. Since supply chain cuts across all industries, logistics managers are very happy to meet and network about best practices. Supply Chain 2020 is looking at best practice, showcasing ideas and experiencing the latest technological innovations.

The exhibition will provide face-to-face marketing opportunities for companies in the area of:
•           Supply chain software.
•           Data capture hardware.
•           3PL & transport service providers.
•           Warehouse equipment.
•           Materials handling equipment.

“We are concentrating on the exhibition component so as not to directly compete with the myriad of supply chain conferences,” said Mr Cooper. “However, we plan to have some seminars and workshops on best practice in supply chain and environment, health & safety,  innovation (technology),  and  recruitment – attracting and retaining quality employees. There will also be plenty of networking opportunities.”

Confirmed supporters include Radio Frequency Barcode Systems, SmartTrans, TransLogix, Epicor Software, PowerLift Nissan and Loscam Pallets.

The two-day event is target at senior management and decision makers, and is expected to attract 50-70 exhibiting companies. To register to attend or for more information visit http://www.supplychain2020.com.au/ or call 1300 789 845.
