Costa Logistics has promoted industry figure Geoff Norman to the newly-created position of chief operating officer.
Mr Norman’s promotion is part of a wider restructure within the Costa Group, which owns Costa Logistics and Costa Exchange and has joint ventures in Polar Fresh and Unigrain.
Costa Group managing director Simon Costa said the restructure was undertaken to generate efficiencies and streamline reporting procedures.
“Despite the difficult economic conditions of last year, the group performed above expectations and we are looking forward to the continued growth of the business,’’ he said.
Mr Costa said as part of the restructure at Costa Logistics, CEO Tim Bolam would be leaving and returning to the UK.
“We thank Tim for his valuable contributions while he was with the company and wish him all the best for the future,’’ Mr Costa said.
Mr Norman, who has been at Costa Logistics for 10 years, said the future of the company was bright. “Earlier this week we announced the signing of Simplot to help roll out its expansion strategy into the chilled foods sector and there are several new ventures we hope to announce in the near future.’’
Mr Norman has 27 years experience in local and international markets across a diverse range of areas including warehousing, distribution and logistics. He has played an integral role in the development and implementation of Costa Logistics’ national network of temperature controlled distribution centres.
