CargoWise, which provides technology solutions for logistics service providers mainly in the shipping industry, has extended its reach into domestic logistics with the acquisition of transport and logistics software firm TransLogix.
The acquisition will bring together one of Australia’s leading domestic transport and logistics software vendors, TransLogix, with one of the world’s fastest growing international logistics execution software companies, CargoWise.
The deal will provide CargoWise with comprehensive domestic transport knowledge to complement its existing international logistics software expertise. The combined business will have the capacity to dramatically increase the level of research and development investment, accelerate the creation of new software capabilities, expand into new geographies and become far more competitive in its core market.
“This is a critical and significant step in our growth plans,” said CargoWise CEO Richard White. “The addition of the TransLogix domestic transport software skills to our platform will not only boost our business, it will give customers all aspects of freight operations door to door, road, rail, air and sea and across borders from a single global vendor.”
TransLogix’s founder and CEO Anselm Waterfield will be assisting in the integration and transition of the business.
“This represents a logical strategic step for TransLogix, which has a long and successful track record. As part of CargoWise, we will be able to extend and invest extensively to meet our customers’ needs with a new, leading-edge platform and technology,” said Mr Waterfield. “We will be able to harness a unique mix of deep expertise and proven capabilities that meet the needs of our customers. There is an exciting and rewarding future ahead for all stakeholders.”
