Integrated logistics equipment supplier for warehouses and distribution centres Swisslog has received the Texas Instruments (TI) 2013 Supplier Excellence Award. The annual award honours companies whose dedication and commitment in supplying products and services meet TI’s standards for excellence.

Swisslog is one of the companies from a group of 12 suppliers chosen for their performance in the areas of cost, environmental & social responsibility, technology, responsiveness, assurance of supply, and quality.

Swisslog was commissioned by TI at the end of 2011 to implement the intralogistic automation for TI’s Product Distribution Centre (PDC), located within Singapore‘s Free Trade Zone. The facility manages products arriving from 20 inbound countries and orders are consolidated and shipped to 54 outbound countries.

The installation of Swisslog’s AutoStore goods-to-person robotic storage and order fulfilment system has improved accuracy and space efficiency. The efficient space utilisation has allowed four times the volume of products to be stored within the same footprint and has resulted in a significant boost in productivity.

“We are honoured that our contribution has been recognised by Texas Instruments,” said Koh Seng Teck, head of Swisslog‘s WDS Southeast Asia region. “This recognition was built on our continuous commitment to help Texas Instruments meet its supply chain goals by reducing costs and increasing the productivity of their operation.”

“As a key business partner, we look to Swisslog to help us achieve our priorities through outstanding execution, quality and performance. Swisslog has demonstrated exceptional commitment in helping us achieve higher productivity and greater efficiency in our supply chain operations. The AutoStore system has given us better inventory control, along with greater speed and accuracy, to help us support our ‘Analog and Embedded Processing’ customers,” said Rob Simpson, vice president of worldwide procurement and logistics at TI.
