HP renews contract with CEVA Logistics

Hewlett Packard (HP) has renewed its contract with CEVA Logistics for the provision of vendor managed inventory (VMI) services at CEVA’s Rydalmere hub facility in New South Wales. CEVA has been working with HP in Australia since 2001.

HP is a technology solutions provider to consumers, businesses and institutions world-wide and the world’s number one provider of notebook PC’s. In Australia, HP custom-assembles its products, which include notebook, desktop, pocket PC’s and servers.

Under the renewed contract, CEVA will continue to provide ‘pick and pack’, kitting and dispatch services, as well as inventory control of goods received from over 40 global suppliers, in preparation for use by HP on its PC and server assembly lines.

Managing director of CEVA Australia, Howard Critchley, said: “I am thrilled by HP’s decision to strengthen and build upon our partnership. It’s particularly pleasing that our past efforts, understanding of HP’s supply chain needs combined with our ability to stay alert and respond to the issues affecting their business on a daily basis, have been recognised. Importantly, our outstanding management of supplier relationships, to ensure compliance with HP production specifications, was a key consideration behind the decision to extend our contract.”

HP’s Australia/New Zealand supply chain manager, Denis Kalogeropoulos, said: “Our successful and long standing relationship with CEVA, now in its eighth year, made HP's decision that much easier, and we are delighted to extend the VMI Hub contract.”
