True Alliance to automate its supply chain

Sterling Commerce Australia has won a contract to supply True Alliance with its logistics program.

True Alliance, one of the largest distributors of footwear and apparel brands in Australia, selected Sterling Commerce and HCL as its strategic partners in a move to enhance supply chain efficiency and supplier relationships, while reducing its carbon footprint by cutting company travel and reliance on paper-based transactions.

The company handles thousands of business-to-business orders each month across three main channels and has been seeking to eliminate paper catalogues to cut the need to physically deliver documentation.

Under the new partnership, Sterling Commerce will provide its multi-channel selling program, which will enable True Alliance to automate its entire sales order capture processes and roll out an online e-commerce platform across the company’s global supply chain.

“Sterling Commerce has proven market solutions, leading technology and a rich heritage of delivering on time and on budget.  They were a natural choice to be our partner and their experience shows that they can scale with any organisation’s business requirements,” said Anne Kremer, business technology manager at True Alliance.

The program, which will be implemented over the coming months by HCL, has multi-channel, electronic sales order functionality that can broker orders for customers and provide an integrated view of inventory held within its back-end systems.

It is also expected to improve the management of the returns process through pre-defined business process flows, ensuring consistent handing of returned products and inventory optimisation.

Sterling Commerce Australia director Michael Vulcan said: “We look forward to delivering a solution that will drive profitable growth for True Alliance while at the same time optimising the consumer and partner experience.”
