Brisbane air traffic surges ahead

Brisbane Airport has kicked off the year on a high recording 10.9 per cent year-on-year growth in passenger numbers, with more than 1.75 million people passing through the Domestic and International Terminals in January. Its international freight volumes have also experienced record growth.

In December 2011, approximately 8,700 tonnes were imported/exported, which is the greatest volume of airfreight in a month for the last four calendar years and represents 22% growth on December 2010.
